The right gear can make or break an outdoor excursion, whether it’s a fishing rod, pair of hiking boots or ski goggles. It needs to be perfect.

However, we recognize you probably don’t have the time to scour the internet for hours, researching hundreds of different options.

FISHING

An afternoon out on the water casting for trophy fish is an afternoon well spent. Most of us have fished since childhood and we still sneak away whenever we can to spend a couple peaceful hours by the water with a fishing rod in hand. Our favorite fish to target are trout and salmon in cold water streams, largemouth and smallmouth bass, striped bass in the ocean surf, and occasionally pike.

SKIING

As soon as the weather turns, you’ll find most of us on the mountain. From the first good snowstorm to the last bit of spring slush, there’s something special about gliding down the mountain, experiencing the incredible views and fresh mountain air as you carve. Not to mention… ski resorts are notoriously fun places to spend a weekend! Oh, and snowboarding is cool too… I guess.

HIKING

Last but certainly not least: hiking. Quite possibly a better workout than skiing, depending on the nature of the hike, but every bit as beautiful. During ski season, we enjoy the haunting beauty of the snow covered trees and valleys, but hiking during spring and fall brings incredible views of its own. It’s so rewarding to complete a difficult hike and find yourself at the peak of the mountain, staring at a breathtaking view while your endorphins pump. Talk about awesome!
